Keyeski Art
Fine Artwork by Rodney Keyeski
Born in the beautiful upper Midwest town of Chippewa Falls WI., my interest in art started at a very young age. My father would come home from working on the railroad and would occasionally draw cars and planes while resting at the kitchen table. I admired his skill and would attempt to copy his work, proudly showing him my finished drawings. As a teenager I took art classes in school and studied acrylic painting under Hugh Mandelert, a popular local artist and instructor. At the age of 19, I moved from my hometown – Chippewa Falls, to Austin, Texas where I would continue to pursue my art education at the University of Texas School of Fine Arts. It is there when I knew that painting would play a major role in my life. I had the pleasure of learning from some of the best painters, Including Peter Saul, Richard Thompson, Lillian Garcia-Roig and many others. In my studies I became particularly interested in the German Expressionist painters with their broad textured brush strokes. I currently reside in Lodi WI. with my wife and 6 children. Our home and my studio are surrounded by abundant wildlife, endless wooded hiking trails and some of the best boating and fishing along the Wisconsin River and Lake Wisconsin. No shortage of subject matter for me to gain inspiration!
There are many ways to connect with people. Storytelling…be it from pulpit, lectern, stage, screen, bench or barstool…connects us. Everyday we live our stories and share parts of them through these narrations. Keyeski’s paintings reflect a form of story sharing through the eyes; using bold colors, expressive brushstrokes and subtle accents, He engages his audience in a story of his that hopefully evokes a feeling and maybe a little bit of nostalgia too.

My name is Rodney Keyeski
